It’s been quite a busy month of endless evenings working on the upcoming version of Shellter.
About a week ago I decided to stop working on it until BsidesLisbon 2015, since most of the things I wanted to add where ready and I was mainly testing them.

But then…, there was that thing that I always wanted to automate in this tool. Something that I always talked about, but I had to prioritize other things over it.
This little…’huge’ thing it seems that finally is becoming a reality and chances say that not only it will be included in the upcoming release, but I will also most probably present it in the aforementioned conference.

Bringing automation in PE Infection into another level…that’s all folks! ;0)

Shellter has been added into the repositories of BackBox. A famous Linux distro dedicated to security testing.

Make sure you have the following two entries in your system’s software sources:

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/backbox/four/ubuntu trusty main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/backbox/four/ubuntu trusty main

You can install Shellter with the following two commands:

apt-get update
apt-get install shellter

The first release candidate for Shellter v4.0 has been finalized.

Now all the focus is on testing it as much as possible in order to find and fix any bugs that might have been introduced with the latest updates.

The upcoming version of Shellter raises the bar regarding AV evasion in cases where uploading an executable in order to execute a specific payload is necessary.

However, the latest version of Shellter is not just about that. The new features allow the user to perform additional tasks  in a more convenient and effective way.
